Kiabi has been around since 1978 and is one of the most popular fashion retailers in the world.  The company is now present in 25 countries, with around 550 stores worldwide. Their platform has always been to promote affordable clothing for the entire family.

The secret to Kiabi’s success and longevity is in no small part due to the company’s ability to reinvent both its in-store and online experiences to constantly stay in touch with consumer habits and appeal to new audiences.

After diversifying their online offer to include shoes, household linen and other products, they decided it was time to expand further. During lockdown, the company started exploring the possibilities of launching a marketplace.

The e-retailer’s vision was clear: to become the first omnichannel marketplace for families by allowing them to find all the types of products and services they need to make their lives easier on a daily basis.

One of their main challenges was figuring out the best cart and payment experiences to not lose customers along the way and tie them in with their existing retail site.
